A beauty professional is a professional that works in the beauty industry.
Why do I not call myself Make-up Artist (X) or Beautician (Z)?
In the last ten years I have developed skills in multiple sectors of beauty & wellness, therefore it’s difficult to describe my work in just a few words.
For example:
In 2013 I got my wellness massage certificate. After that, I went to beauty school to become an esthetician. In and outside of school, I learned a lot about skincare, cosmetics, beauty treatments and business. During this education time, I started working on my portfolio as a make-up artist as well. A passion I didn’t turn my back on from, ever since. After education I have worked in different environments such as retail, salons, spa’s and hotels. I have worked for and with brands like Armani, Chanel, YSL beauty, MAC Cosmetics, Pat McGrath, Cenzaa & Extenso.
From 2020 I have been registered a business, and worked fulltime on branding Sylvia Mercera during a time of the covid pandemic. Struggling my way through this as a fresh entrepeneur has really taught me a lot about myself, and about doing business. I have experienced highs and lows, and found out what my true strengths are.
The essence of my labor is related to all types of “Beauty”. Whether externally or internally.
What does BEAUTY mean to you?
My strength lies in seeing the beauty in the (smallest) details. This can be physical or non-physical. I will make sure you’ll know your worth, no matter the service.
